We recommend you purchase a “CHAMBERLAIN®” garage door opener. They are sold at Home Depot, Lowes, Canadian Tire, Costco.ca, and Amazon.ca. They usually have sales so wait for them to go on sale before you buy. Check your flyers or Flipp app.

When you pick up the unit, call us to schedule an install.

HEIGHT OF THE DOOR
The unit that you pick up at Home Depot, Lowes, Canadian Tire, Costco.ca, or Amazon.ca is for a 7’ high door. If your door is 8’ high you will need the extension kit that will be found in the same location you found the opener. Remember to buy the BELT extension kit if you bought the BELT drive opener. The extensions are about $110.00 for belt drive and $50.00 for chain drive.

BELT or CHAIN?
A belt drive is the new popular high-end technology, it is quieter than a chain and seems to last longer. The chain drive is the older method that is still strong and reliable but may not be as quiet as the belt. We recommend buying a belt drive when possible.

HORSEPOWER (SEE BELOW)
For most garage doors ½ HP will be fine. But, sometimes, the stores will have the ¾ HP or the 1¼ HP on sale for the same price. The better the horsepower the longer the unit will generally last. We recommend buying ¾ HP or 1¼ HP when possible.

BATTERY BACK-UP
For rural or situations where a power outage may be an issue, the 1¼ HP Belt drive model comes with optional battery back-up.

Below are links to the Chamberlain sections of these stores, clicking them will take you to their site.
